Two scarecrows,
兩個假人,
Made for the birds.
做給鳥雀.
In and out the arbor,
葡萄架裡外,
Serenity of the summer.
寧靜的夏日

    Do the scarecrow really work?

We never had so much fruit and veggie damage from birds as we have this year. We had cherry tree completely netted, and they still got in and ate half of them.

  2. Yes, they do scare the birds a lot. I still have to stop by 2-3 times a day, but not as before. Birds are smart. They fly over checking upon us every now and then.

No matter you keep it neat or not, if you don’t show up in the garden very often, birds take it as deserted. They luxuriate on your fruits and veggies.

It may be too late for this year. Next year, check the cherry tree after you net it within couple days. Make every effort to find the outlet, then tie it up. Birds have better eyesight than we do.

    Thank you.

Yes, the birds are smart, but we can learn also.
