Nut trees 堅果樹

There are two nut trees, walnut and pecan, on the farm.
農場有兩株堅果樹,核桃與大核桃.
We go nutting under the walnut tree.
我們在核桃樹下撿核桃.
Pecan tree is young and small,
大核桃樹幼小,
It takes couple more years for the pecans.
幾年後才有果子可撿.
Guest’s delicacy—-five spiced walnuts
貴賓佳餚—-五香核桃
walnut meat 2 lb
核桃仁 二磅
salt 2 ts
鹽 二茶匙
sugar 2 tas
糖 二湯匙
five spice powder 1 tas
五香粉 一湯匙
Method
做法
Pour 1 cup of the water into a small pot.
小鍋內放一杯水.
Add salt, sugar and five spice powder, mix well.
加鹽,糖,五香粉調勻.
Add the walnut meat into the pot.
放核桃仁入鍋.
Add some water over the walnut meat.
加些水蓋過核桃仁.
Bring to the boil for 1 minute, heat off.
水滾一分鐘,熄火.
Until it gets cool, evenly set the walnut meat in the baker on high 1 minute.
待涼, 將核桃仁攤平入小烤箱, 高溫一分鐘.
If it’s not crunchy enough, give another 1 min.
不夠脆,再加一分鐘.
Good with rice soup.
宜配粥與稀飯.

好創意的做法,從來沒想到這樣處理核桃。不知美國出生的小朋友,會不會抗拒五香粉?
