Jujube and wild jujube 棗與野棗

十月廿八日星期二晴

A sucker from the jujube yields tiny sour fruits,
一枝側枝長出許多小又酸的棗子,
Which is quite different from my oval sweet jujubes.
和我橢圓型甜棗不得相提並論.
One visitor was surprised to see it and told me,
一位來訪者喜見到它, 告訴我說,
“It reminds me of the wild mountain jujubes of my home town, Shaan-shi province in China.”
“讓我想起故鄉, 中國陝西, 山裡的野棗.”
I began to like it.
我開始喜歡它了.
