A big event is coming in the farm this Saturday.
I went to a country roadside strawberry stand,
For the fresh strawberries with limited Spanish,
“Maniana come?”
“Si.”
“Maniana Maniana come?”
“?!”
So I bought them today.

後天農場有個大活動.
我去鄉下小路邊草莓攤,
用僅有的西班牙語問新鮮草莓,
“明天來嗎?”
“來.”
“明天的明天來嗎?”
“?!”
只好今天買下它們了.

Last November, based on some advice we received, we planted fava beans for the first time as a ground cover experiment in our tomato beds to increase nitrogen in the soil over the winter. Now, we have so many fava bean plants 5 foot tall, with beautiful leaves we use for salads and stir fry and the beans are just getting close to harvest stage.

However, we need the ground in a few weeks for tomato seedings. We hate to cut them down, but our space is limited and need the room for summer tomato. So sad.

Fava beans are flexible. We enjoy the beans from tender to tough.
Please don’t worry too much about the ripeness of it. Before you turn it into a tomato field, you still have a lot of the fava beans for the table.
I’m not sure whether you planted is the ground cover fave or the edible fava. If it’s the former, the beans will be much smaller. But the taste is same delicious.
I learned from you started taking the leaves for green. Brilliant idea! Never thought about it. What a waste!
