While walking the dog, Nung-fu met a neighbor who has lived by the creek more than thirty years. He walks his dog every morning in the neighborhood and knows everything around.
Nung-fu told him, we lost this and that, ….. He said, “It is the coyotes. And not only one. A pack of them.”
“A mountain lion came to the hills lately and drove the coyotes down the valley.” He said, “One neighbor lost nine geese one night. She wouldn’t unfold them at night any more.” Likewise, we locked all of our animals up through the night.
He also said, “There once was a two thousand goat farm in this area. The coyotes killed the goats every night. The owner gave up the goat farm and turned it to a cattle farm. At least, cattle are much bigger than coyotes.”
Nung-fu asked him, “What can we do about it?”
He said, “We can do nothing, unless the loss is one of our babies, they’ll do something about it. The problem is nobody wants to sacrifice a baby.”
He continued, “There are predator control officers working for us. When coyotes came to my farm long time ago, I did report to them right away. Since then, they checked my farm regularly and reported to their boss which made my head ached for many years. Now I’m free of farm animals.”

Any more losses since you locked up animals at night?
Sounds like mountain lion true cause of the problem.
Thank goodness! None were killed up to now.
Knock! Knock! Knock!
It sure gives us hard time. But we’ll work it out!
Thanks for asking.
