Having Tzong-Tz is a traditional custom to celebrate Chinese New Year.
過農曆新年吃粽子是傳統的習俗.
Tzong-Tz has quite the same pronunciation as Goal in Chinese.
中文的粽子與中的諧音.
Having Tzong-Tz is in expectation of making goals in the coming new year.
吃粽子預祝未來的一年事事順利.

Taste of Home Town—-Tzong-Tz


Boneless pork butt, 3 lbs, cut small, marinated in rice wine & soy sauce

Virginia ham or Chinese ham, 1-2 pieces, sliced
-

-

Sweet rice, 2-3 lbs, rinsed

-


Dry bamboo leaves, 1 bundle(4 bundles in 1 bag), soak in water over night

Small sized cotton thread(Sold in Chinese supermarket)

Method
Fold bamboo leaf into cone shape
Scoop 1 Ts rice in the cone
Add 1 pc pork and 1 pc ham
Scoop another 1 Ts rice to cover the meat, and press to flat
Fold and push back both ends of the bamboo leaf to cover the cone
Tie up with cotton thread

Cook
Pour water over Tzong-Tzs in the pot, bring to boil
Simmer about 1 hour

家鄉味—-粽子

去骨豬腿肉, 3磅, 切小塊, 酒醬油醃過
維吉尼亞醃肉或中國火腿, 1-2片, 切薄片
糯米, 2-3磅, 清洗
乾粽葉, 1捆(4捆1包), 浸水過夜
細綿繩(中國超市有售)

做法

粽葉折成尖錐

舀1湯匙米入尖錐
加1塊肉與1片火腿
再舀1湯匙米蓋住肉, 壓平

折推回粽葉兩頭, 蓋住尖錐

綿繩繫牢

煮法
鍋內倒水蓋過粽子, 煮滾
小火燜煮約1小時
