Nung-fu: ” How do you know that?”

” Your loquat is sweeter than mine.”
” 你的枇杷比較甜.”
” Variety does not make so much deference.  It may be the squirrel, not until loquat fully ripen, you intend to have the fruit before squirrel come.  Only when it is ripe, it is sweet”
” 品種並沒多大關係.  可能是松鼠, 你不等枇杷完全熟, 在松鼠來之前就吃它.  枇杷熟了才會甜.”

Farmer’s simple food—-Salted eggs

Fresh eggs
Container, prefer the same size of the eggs
Salt
Drinking water

Method

1.Pour the drinking water into a large bowl
2.Stir the salt into water till saturated
3.Gently set the eggs in the container
4.Slowly pour the saturated water to cover eggs
5.Lid on and leave it in cool
6.Take 4 weeks to be salted

Nung-fu:”Yep!  While the fruits invite the birds, the streamers scare them away.”
農夫:”是啊? 水果引來鳥雀, 金線嚇跑牠們.”

Visitor:”I’ve never had any fruit from my tree.  Year after year, flowers and tiny fruits all
coverd it in spring.  Suddenly, the fruits drop off over one night.”
訪客:”我從沒吃過自家樹上的水果. 一年又一年, 春天果樹開花結出滿滿一樹的小果子.  突然 一夜之間全掉光光.”

Nung-fu:”Did you water it?”
農夫:”有給水嗎?”

Visitor:”Yes, I did.”
訪客:”給了啊!”

Nung-fu:”How did you do it?”
農夫:”怎麼給的?”

Visitor:”Drip 10 minutes a day.”
訪客:”一天滴灌十分鐘.”

Nung-fu:”Not enough water.  At least, drip over night.”
農夫:”水給太少了, 至少滴過夜.”

Visitor:”What are those ants busy about in my peach tree after the fruits all gone?
訪客:”收成後, 螞蟻在桃樹上忙些什麼?”

Nung-fu:”The fruit trees are growing new leaves after harvest.  Where there are  ants,    there are aphids.   Spread the trunks to stop the ants coming and rub off the aphids
on the new leaves before they get worse.”
農夫:”收成後果樹會長新葉.  芽蟲走到哪裡, 螞蟻就到那裡.  趕快在樹幹噴藥驅蟻並抹去新葉上的芽蟲.”

“My baby goat. He thinks himself as human being.”

“Of course we do.  But not as many as before.  We take whatever on the farm.”

“Wild mustard.”

Wild mustard, cleaned and tore in small pieces
Chicken breast, julienne or sliced, wine & soy sauce marinate

Method

High heat oil in the pan, stir fry chicken breast
Add wild mustard when chicken breast half cooked

Customer  wanted to buy the ducks, asked:”How do you raise your ducks?”

I said, “I give them plenty of sunshine, fresh air and water.  They walk a long way to the feed.  They like the grass.  Sometimes, they themselves take the dirt for the minerals their body needs.  That’s all.”
我說, ” 給牠們足夠的陽光, 空氣和水.  牠們走遠路去吃飼料.  牠們喜愛吃青草.  有時牠們自己會吃土補充身體需要的礦物質.  如此而已.”
Organic or nonorganic is too much for me,
