Li Bai and Bai Juyi are the precious in Chinese literary. Almost every Chinese knows one or two of their poems which are easy to memorize. I'm happy for you enjoying their poems from translation.

It looks like spring has already come to your beautiful garden. Have a good time working in the garden!

Li Bai and Bai Juyi are enjoyable even in translations because they are so simple to read and everyone can see their own life visualized in them. You are lucky to read them in the original which should be much more powerful.

Our nectarine blossoms are out; also the freesia flowers are just starting. Only two daffidols are flowering but more getting ready.

I think some of our bulbs are in too wet ground and too much shade; they either produce late or not at all. We might move them to dryer ground later in year.

Thank you for your study.
I thought pheasant and peacock belong to the different families.
The male pea bird is peacock. The female is peahen. And their baby is peachick. That's what the hatcheries call them.
Thank you.

Peach Blossom at Dalin Temple
By Bai Juyi - Tang Dynasty. 772 to 846 AD

In June of the human realm, all fragrant and beautiful flowers have disappeared,

But the mountain temple’s peach blossoms have just begun to bloom.

I have always complained spring is nowhere to be found when it is gone.

I didn’t know that spring simply moved up here.

It is enjoyable to learn something new every day. Your blog makes it easy. I didn't know what a "peahen" is; I thought some kind of migrant bird. Looking it up, found it is your pheasant. I learned Peahen is female pheasant and the male is Peacock.

Thanks for all your hard work writing, providing pictures and showing us the farmlife for us city folks.

Dear Lilly,

Sorry for that.
Now they are seeding and dying. I do hope you'll find them somewhere in the wildness. They appear in a very short time from winter to early spring only.
