The titbids of the farm-The snail

There were plenty of yellow flowers on the loofah vines.
A few snails crawled up the loofah vines sluggishly at night.
The fresh, tender, crispy and sweet loofah flowers were the snails summer delicacies.
Day broke, the snails had not had much of the loofah flowers.  They headed downwards on the double to leave the vines.
One snail was greedy for the loofah flowers staying upon the vine alone and burying itself in the center of a flower to have a hearty meal.
Nung-fu walked by seeing the loofah flowers badly damaged, and burst in an anger.  He grabbed the only one snail among the loofah flowers, threw it into the chicken area.
The hens rushed at it in a moment.

農場小故事-絲瓜花上的蝸牛

絲瓜藤上開出許多黃色的絲瓜花.
夜晚,  幾隻蝸牛慢慢爬上絲瓜藤.
絲瓜花鮮嫩脆甜, 是牠們夏天的美食.
天色漸漸大亮, 蝸牛們淺嚐即止.  趕緊離開絲瓜藤.
一隻蝸牛貪吃絲瓜花, 獨在高高的藤蔓上, 將頭埋進花心, 盡情享受.
農夫走來, 看見絲瓜花遭破壞, 大為生氣.  抓起絲瓜花中唯一的蝸牛, 順手扔進雞區.
母雞立刻搶成一堆.

A friend asked me how to cook the egg plant.
一個朋友問我如何燒茄子.
Old granny was used to cook it in the rice cooker.
老祖母慣常用電鍋蒸茄子.
It is simple and easy.
簡單容易.

Taste of Home Town-Steamed egg plant

Egg plant, 1 pc, sliced
Garlic, 3 cloves, finely chopped
Soy sauce, 2-3 Ts
Sesame oil, 2-3 ts

Method
Switch down to cook the rice in a rice cooker for about 5 min.
Quickly add egg plant in a steam pan/or right on the rice to cook with the rice
After switch up, wait 5-10 more min to make the egg plant tender
Remove the egg plant to a plate and cut it into shreds with chop sticks
Add chopped garlic, soy sauce and sesame oil, mix well

**The skin of the Chinese egg plant is much tender then that of American egg plant.

家鄉味-蒸紫茄

茄子, 1個, 切片
大蒜, 3粒, 剁碎
醬油, 2-3湯匙
蔴油, 2-3茶匙

做法
按下電鍋開關煮飯約5分鐘
迅速放進茄子在蒸盤上或米上與米同煮
開關跳起, 再等5-10分鐘, 讓茄子軟爛
移茄子到盤中, 用筷子將茄子割細
加蒜末醬油蔴油, 拌勻

**中國茄子比美國茄子皮嫩得多.

The titbids of the farm-Two Canada geese

A neighbor successfully hatched two Canada goslings.
These two cage raised goslings had never left the cage one step.
At night, coyotes, skunks, foxes walking by couldn’t take them away.
In spring and autumn, there were some Canada geese flying by to chat with them.
Several years passed, they were fully grown up.
One day, they took the chance of the gate was unlocked walking out of the cage to see the world.
At daytime, they flew east and west all around the neighborhood.  When night came, they were blown and fell asleep right on the spot without taking any consideration of the covert and protection.
Shortly, nobody had seen them any more.

農場小故事-兩隻加拿大雁

鄰居成功的孵出兩隻加拿大雁.
這兩隻雛雁從小養在鐵籠中, 沒有走出籠子一步.
夜裡, 土狼臭鼬狐狸, 走在籠外, 吃不到牠們.
春秋兩季, 有過路的大雁飛經籠邊, 與牠們嘎嘎聊天.
幾年過去,　牠們都長成大雁.
一次, 趁著籠門沒關好, 牠們走出鐵籠, 看看外面的世界.
大白天, 牠們東飛西飛, 走遍附近地方.  黑夜降臨, 牠們累了, 就地睡覺.  絲毫不顧隱蔽與保護的考量.
很快, 無人再見牠倆兒的蹤影.

The titbids of the farm-The willow tree

In the middle of the summer, the green leaves of the willow tree by the fence turned yellow, and   went with the wind flying in the air.
Nung-fu checked the willow leaves.  There were no pests at all.
No damage was found in the trunk neither.
Time went bye, more yellow leaves had fallen all over the ground.
Nung-fu walked to the willow tree and shook the trunk which had been loosened already.  Just a little push, the trunk directly dropped down.
For quite a while, the gopher under the ground gnawed at the willow root bit by bit.  Without root, soon or later, the willow tree was drying up.
The willow tree was completely hopeless.

農場小故事-柳樹生病

仲夏季節,  圍籬邊綠綠的柳葉一片一片變黃, 隨風飄舞天空.
農夫仔細查看柳葉, 並未發現蟲害.
農夫又查看柳樹幹, 也沒有受傷的痕跡.
一天天過去, 黃葉越掉越多, 落滿地.
農夫走到柳樹下, 用力搖樹幹.   樹幹鬆動, 一推就倒.
原來地鼠躲在地底將柳樹根一點一點吃空.  柳樹已經無根, 遲早枯乾.
柳樹完全沒救了.
